My Bio

Brian Hi there! My name is Brian Burkhart. I had a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ while I was in Africa in the Spring of 1984, at which time I felt God calling me to enter the ministry. A few weeks later I met a missionary couple from Canada, who told me about a small Bible School in northern Alberta, called Peace River Bible Institute. I felt this was God's leading, so I came to the Peace Country and have been here ever since (before 1984 I had been working as a dental technician in Germany - my "home land"). After graduating from PRBI, I was a pastor at McLaurin Baptist Church in Grande Prairie from 1988-1996, and then at the Webster Community Church since 1996. I have also been an adjunct faculty member at PRBI for the past 20 years.
While at Bible School, I met a wonderful young lady named Tracy. We were married in 1987, during my 4th year. Since then we've had 5 amazing children, each a tremendous blessing from God. The oldest two have left home now. All of them love the Lord, which is an unspeakable joy to my heart. Burkhart Family
moose In addition to faith and family, I also love hunting. Moose, bear, elk, deer - you name it, they live within walking distance of our house, and every year some of them end up spending the winter in our freezer. I hunt with both bow and rifle, and enjoy doing my own processing (cutting & wrapping, making sausage, etc).
